Amorphous Core – toroidal and cut cores for power electronics

Key Highlights

Low core loss

Very low hysteresis and eddy loss at low–mid frequencies for cooler operation.

High saturation flux

Typical Bs ≈ 1.56 T allows higher current handling before saturation.

Good permeability

Typical μr 5k–80k (grade-dependent) for efficient designs.

Cost-effective

Attractive performance-per-cost compared with other soft-magnetic materials.

Thermal stability

Reliable from −40–130 °C with low drift; higher ranges available on request.

Flexible forms

Toroid, C/E-core, gapped/cut cores, coated or cased versions; custom sizes.

Typical Applications

Power Transformers
Low-loss cores for compact, efficient transformers

FAQ

Amorphous vs. Nanocrystalline vs. Permalloy?

Amorphous offers low loss and high Bs at attractive cost—great for larger sizes and low–mid frequencies. Nanocrystalline delivers higher permeability and lower loss at mid–high frequencies. Permalloy excels in ultra-low loss and stability for precision sensing.

Can you make gapped or cut cores?

Yes. We provide calibrated gaps and cut cores with targeted μe, plus winding and thermal recommendations.

How do I select the right grade?

Share inductance, current/ΔI, frequency, window limits, and temperature rise targets. We will propose grade, geometry, gap and turns with loss/thermal estimates.

Need a recommendation or sample?

Tell us your target inductance, frequency, current, size limits, and thermal targets. We will provide a design proposal and lead time.
